Baja Day 25: San Juanico

It’s the first day, maybe ever, that I spend almost entirely inside our camper. Every now and then I just don’t feel like being in the elements all day and today was one of those days. The desire to be indoors allowed us both to get comfy at our computers and get some work done.

Come late afternoon Mark decided to walk in to town to see if he could procure any groceries. If he could find just a few key things we’d be quite comfortable here for a few more days. I hung back, making it the first time we’d been apart in nearly a month.

He returned a few hours later with a dozen stories to tell. Walking around a tiny Mexican fishing village/expat hot-spot is sure to entertain. I was eager to see what he’d found and wide-eyed as he pulled a dozen eggs, fresh tortillas, and fruit from his backpack. Exactly the things I was hoping for. We’ve never stretched our food so thin and yet we still have plenty. I’m just adjusting to not having exactly what I want at all times. Which I think is a perfectly healthy adjustment to experience.

After dinner we washed dishes outside beneath a deep, dark, star-filled sky. Then Mark worked on getting the truck level again as we keep sinking deeper in to the soft sand. All in all, another day of enjoying being still in one place.
