Today was a throwback to our rookie days when the draw to see what’s just around the next bend time and time and time again overpowered our decision-making skills to just pick a spot and stop already.
The East Cape of Baja is outlined by a long, bumpy dirt road with endless places to camp on the beach. So today was one of those days when we said over and over again “we could camp there” but the tone of voice instead said “but what if there’s something better down the road”. As we got neared the end of the road and the dense city of San Jose del Cabo we knew it was time to reign in our impulses and make a decision.
We picked a beach, settled in, and acknowledged how unknowingly fried we were from driving and scoping and evaluating all day. First came snacks, then a little rest, then a blazing sunset followed by some whale-watching. And just like that, we felt right at home.
That place looks beautiful and secluded – perfect!
