Baja Day 51: San Dionisio

There’s a common theme among the travelers here at Rancho San Dionisio. In the mornings everyone tends to gather in the outdoor kitchen for coffee and breakfast and ask one another about their upcoming travel plans. Are you leaving today? Where are you headed? And everyone seems to have the same answer. “Well, we thought we were leaving today but  we’re not sure why. I think we’ll stay another day.”  There’s a bit of magic in the air here and one does quickly ask themselves why they would want to leave. Luckily there are no reservations, as is true of most campsites in Mexico, it’s first-come, first-served and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like.

Our day is filed with yoga, great conversation, yard games, cooking, reading, meeting new arriving travelers, and lots and lots of dog love.

While many of us are gathered around the fire this evening, Clarence stops by to say good night and tells us there will be hot coffee and fresh apple pie for everyone in the morning. I think it’s safe to say we’ll all be gathered in the kitchen again tomorrow, eating apple pie, and talking about staying another day.
