Mindful sharing: why we’re backing off social media and leveling up our Patreon page

Hello everyone!

As many of you know, our unconventional lifestyle is rooted in intentionality. Mark and I have long had a tendency to make choices that may go against the grain but instead align with our core values for a life well-lived.  In that spirit, I’ve been doing some “digital decluttering” the last few months.

While I love sharing the ins and outs of our life on the road, I have really enjoyed stepping away from social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. The noise and the algorithms and the advertisements don’t align with the slower, more thoughtful life Mark and I strive for.

But we still want to share the in-between moments with you

Not everything fits into a long-form blog post. Sometimes it’s just a photo of a particularly beautiful campsite, a quick thought from the road, or a behind-the-scenes look at how we’re making this lifestyle work day-to-day.

How we’re going to start incorporating those moments into our Patreon page:

  • Bite-Sized Updates: Frequent posts available exclusively for our Patreon members.
  • These will be raw, unpolished glimpses into our world: Think real-time updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and throwback stories from the past.  (The number of photos and stories we have that have never been shared is immeasurable!)
  • Continued Deep Dives: Our monthly podcast episodes and weekly articles on the blog aren’t going anywhere!

What this means for this space: twohappycampers.com

Nothing is changing here on our website. This will always be the place where we share articles about our travels and unconventional lifestyle; and access to those articles will always be free. Patreon is a secondary digital space where we can get more personal and share things we don’t necessarily want to share with the public thanks to the paywall. It’s also a wonderful alternative to the noise of traditional social media platforms.

TLDR; These are the two ways to follow our nomadic lifestyle:

What a Patreon membership costs

We’re excited to grow our Patreon community and want the barrier to entry to be low. For a limited time we’re offering a $2 per month option to join and get unlimited access to our page. While we will eventually close this tier to new members in the future, anyone who joins now will be grandfathered in at this rate for as long as they stay subscribed.

how you can get a peek at our Patreon for free

You can join our community for free to get our public updates and a feel for what our paying members are receiving. There’s no pressure to sign up for a paid tier—we’re just happy to have you in our circle.

We’re excited to make our Patreon page feel more personal and positive than that which fills our social media feeds.  Thank you for being part of this journey and for supporting a more intentional way of living and sharing.

More soon,
Michele ♥︎
