Notes From The Road #24: And there goes June

Welcome back to Notes From The Road, a monthly recap of where we’ve been and what we’ve been up to over the last 30 days.

And just like that, it’s July.

June was a weird and busy month for us. Typically we would hook up our travel trailer and head into Colorado’s high country at the start of June to position ourselves closer to where our work commitments take place. This year, however, we’ve been dragging our feet. Staying at our property has allowed us to tackle projects that can’t be accomplished when living nomadically on public lands. So, three of four weekends of the month we packed up all our photography gear, drove a few hours to wherever that weekend’s wedding was taking place, and then returned to our property on Sunday. All that to say, with the weekends dedicated to weddings, the weekdays went by fast.

Our love and desire for nurturing this website and promoting unconventional living seems to be growing everyday. While things may seem stagnant here on the surface, we’re working hard at designing an entirely new website that we aim to have ready in August. Juggling our paying job while also finding time to grow things here on Two Happy Campers is enough to fill our days and nights but we’re making some exciting progress behind-the-scenes. We hope you’ll stick with us through the transition to the new website, we promise it will be worth it!

Until then, here’s a little photo recap from the month of June…

In case you missed it, please check out our recent article about easy precautions to take to prevent wildfires while camping this summer. Our thoughts go out to the incredible people working day and night to fight these fires.

Help us decide on our next sticker design

We love handing out stickers to all the folks we meet on the road. Currently we have two different designs that read “always take the scenic route”. In preparing for Overland Expo Mountain West, we need to come up with some new designs! Let us know in the comments which saying you would love to stick on your rig, water bottle, gear boxes, etc…

  1. Conformity is Optional
  2. I like dirt
  3. Spend your life doing strange things with weird people

We can’t wait to hear your input!

Thank you for being here!

Cheers,
Michele & Mark

  • I’ve spent over 70 years believing that “Conformity is Optional”, if not more stronger sentiments about it.

  • Ooo I like all three, but the dirt one is my favorite, followed by the conformity one.

I wish we could hang out this summer! We’re somehow so close yet so far away. I think fall will bring some opportunities though. 🙂

  • I would have to say my choice is #3. But I’d add “and a dog” at the end.

I’m thinking of you two with the fires on the Utah/Colorado border. Stay safe.

  • Love the pictures! Sorry to hear about the fires. I hope you get that much needed rain. I like saying #1.
