In January we spent two glorious weeks at Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. It would have been great all on its own but the fact that Claire & Brandon came to share a week with us made it that much better. Our lifestyles so easily and seamlessly blend when we’re all together. And the ways in which we bring ingredients together to make decadent meals without ANY pre-planning…well, it makes our time together that much more memorable.
Once again we maxed out the 14 day limit and only left one time in that timeframe to run to the store for some fresh produce. I am absolutely relishing the contentment that we’ve been experiencing in this lifestyle lately. Our needs are few, our bills are minimal, and our minds are at ease. I couldn’t ask for much more.
Here’s a photo recap of our time at Kofa…
I’m not sure there’s any better way to take advantage of gorgeous weather in an RV than with a toy hauler. Fresh sourdough. One for us, one for our guests. Teddy Bear Cholla. So beautiful and yet so evil. We carry pliers with us at all times in cholla country. It’s the only way to remove it if you step on it, and the stuff is everywhere. We enjoyed a short hike from camp one evening to watch the sunset. Camp, and the incredible view, as seen from our hike. Our little deck is the best little hangout spot. Claire & I enjoying some post-yoga snacks. I absolutely love having Claire around to do yoga with. On this particular night we brought our Instant Pots together for a feast of tri-tip and mashed potatoes. Mark making sourdough biscuits and gravy. The Palm Canyon trailhead was only a mile an a half from our camp so we took advantage and got a nice 5 mile round trip hike in one afternoon. The night sky at Kofa was so good. After a week together Claire & Brandon packed up and headed south. We’d be heading south to meet them in just a few days.
