Winter in Baja Day 6: Crossing paths

San Ignacio -> Bahia de Concepcion //

We enjoy a slow morning before packing up and continuing our journey south. A two and a half hour drive along Highway 1 takes us to a beautiful white sand beach on Bahia de Concepcion.  But not first without stopping at Mulege Brewing Company for pizza and beer. Good pizza, pizza of any kind for that matter, isn’t easy to come by in Baja so it’s a must stop and is as good as we remember.

At our destination for the night are three other truck campers, none of which are strangers. John and Tom are here who we met in San Ignacio. And Heather and Adam whom we very serendipitously met at a campground in Colorado this past summer. We picked up a parcel for them in the states, since they arrived in Baja 6 weeks prior, and we stayed in touch knowing our paths would eventually cross. Today was the day. Heather and Adam are the kind of people you meet on the road and can easily imagine them turning quickly from acquaintances in to friends.

We spent the evening in easy conversation, calm waves lapping in the background. The air temperature perfect and the song of sputtering Jake brakes from passing semis filling the air every so often. Not every beach is a picture-perfect paradise but this one certainly checks a lot of boxes.
